Dear users, dear designers,
when are you putting up the Christmas tree this year? Do you have beautiful Christmas tree decorations and an angel for the top?

We haven’t had a real Christmas tree in years—just little artificial trees covered in snow as decorations, and we put them up on the first Sunday of Advent.
Back in our old apartment, we always had a big, ceiling-high tree that was lavishly decorated. I’d kept all the decorations from my childhood and gradually added to them—or bought new ones in different colors—so it wouldn’t be the same tree every year. There was always a tree topper that matched the color scheme, but no angel—just those toppers with a ball at the bottom.
The real tree wasn’t put up until December 23.

Since I don’t put up a tree, my Christmas decorations go on the wall and on the table.

We always put up the tree on the evening of December 23. That way, it’s still something really special for the kids on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Then—if it isn’t shedding too many needles—it can stay up until the end of January.
I put up the Christmas decorations little by little.

We usually put the tree up the day before Christmas Eve, and since we only have a small artificial tree, it doesn’t leave any pine needles lying around.

Best regards, Inge

We usually get a tree during the first week of December and put it up pretty quickly. Depending on its condition, the tree stays up until mid- to late January. For the past few years, we’ve been getting a real tree—I struggled with an artificial one for years and eventually just couldn’t stand the sight of it anymore. I always mix up the tree decorations; I don’t have to buy new ones all the time. This year, the tree will be decorated in white and red. The top is always left bare. A real tree can have a few quirks—it doesn’t matter. That reminds me of an experience: my last Christmas with my ex-husband was a disaster. He’d gotten a very dense and heavy fir tree that wouldn’t stand up straight enough—it just didn’t suit him—and what did my ex do? He just threw the fir tree away—I have to say, by the next day, the tree was gone, so I’m sure someone else was happy to have it.

Wishing you all a wonderful day, Best, Kerstin
