Christmas Market 2024

Dear users, dear designers,
do you like going to Christmas markets? Maybe you even sell at a Christmas market? In any case, I hope you have lots of fun. 

Do you have any plans for the 2024 Christmas market?

I won’t be selling anything, but I’ll definitely take a stroll through one—though only the very small one here at the farm next door. The big ones downtown are too crowded, too loud, and too stressful for me.

I feel the same way, Veronika—too loud, too many people passed out from mulled wine, etc. I’ll just walk through it once, and that’s it.

I have a booth at the lovely little Christmas market right here in our town.
I used to be an exhibitor at a really beautiful, large market, but the prices for booth space there have gotten so exorbitant that it’s just not worth it anymore. Unfortunately. I really enjoyed being there.
Another market is planned for next year, but I wasn’t able to get a booth there this year.
I don’t actually go to the Christmas market myself, because the markets set up in the cities that run throughout the entire Advent season usually don’t offer any real handmade crafts. And I personally don’t like that.
Plus, before and after “my” market, our weekends are so packed with birthdays (my husband’s and our fourth child’s) and invitations that there’s no room left for a trip to a Christmas market.

I enjoy going to Christmas markets where arts and crafts are sold—like the one in our town or in the smaller towns nearby. It’s always really nice.

This weekend, I’m going to an exhibition to sell my handmade items. This exhibition has been around for many years, and it’s always been a pleasure. For me, selling is more of a side hustle. I’m looking forward to showcasing my work and chatting with people. 

I’m all set to go and looking forward to welcoming visitors

Dear Petra, I hope you have a great time, make good sales, and meet some nice people.

We’ve skipped the Christmas market scene the last few years—we just weren’t in the mood at all. This year, we want to visit one or two here in the area again.

I’ll soon be setting up a booth at two different small village markets. One of them is new to me, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Thank you for your contributions. It was two absolutely wonderful days. Lots of customers, lots of friends, and familiar faces—it was in our town. 

I was able to reduce my stock of knitted and crocheted items. I can donate all my children’s hats to Nepal, because I met a young woman who is involved in a village there and is going there in the spring. 

I was able to get many visitors excited about my embroidery, since it is rather rarely shown at exhibitions and markets. I had many great conversations.
