Knitting a Hat

Hello everyone,
I bought myself a new quilted jacket in raspberry red or fuchsia. It looks super chic and fits like a glove.
I’d like to knit a hat to go with it. What would you recommend regarding the shape,
color, yarn?

You can describe the jacket, though. 

How about a hat in the same color, or maybe a nice dark blue or purple?

thank you so much for pointing out the link to the jacket. It wasn’t on purpose—I didn’t even think about it beforehand. Thanks also for your tips. Let’s see—I might have also been thinking of a white tweed yarn with cheerful nubs.
But I always need patterns, even though I’ve been knitting since I was a kid.

Exactly! You’ll find plenty of patterns here—I’m sure you’ll find something you like.
As for color, I’d only incorporate the jacket’s color into the hat as small dots or narrow stripes at most; otherwise, choose black, white, gray, or dark blue as a contrasting color—whatever goes best with the rest of your outfit.

thank you so much for the tips. That’s pretty much what I had in mind. I’d really like a white tweed yarn with colored nubs (preferably in berry, pink, blue, etc.)—and not too thick. I’ll see what I can find, and as for the style, maybe something simple—a beanie with a ribbed cuff and then knit-purl stripes…
But first I have to finish my mohair summer cardigan; I’m on the second sleeve and don’t always have time. And there are hats you can just grab, buuuut…
