Fabrics suitable for winter

Dear users and authors,
If you want to sew warm clothing, which fabrics are suitable (or not)?

I consider all wool fabrics—and, to some extent, cotton—to be suitable for winter. This includes fulled wool (loden), woven wool fabrics, knitted wool fabrics, and knit fabrics. They should be breathable and, in some cases, water-repellent, such as fulled and loden fabrics.
Synthetic fabrics are not suitable; while they do keep you warm, you literally end up stewing in your own sweat when wearing them. For me, it’s ALWAYS important that the fabric allows air to circulate while still keeping you warm. This works very well with natural-fiber fabrics, but there are also modern fabrics that can do the same, such as these performance fabrics used for underwear and sportswear.
