What is the minimum width a scarf should be to be comfortable?

It depends on the scarf, Josefa. A children’s scarf is wide enough at 10 cm; a *standard* men’s scarf is usually 20–30 cm wide.
For women’s scarves, the *standard* width starts at 20 cm, and they can go up to 50–60 cm wide. It also always depends on how the scarf is used—just around the neck, or sometimes as a head covering.

For a regular “plain” scarf that you just wrap around your neck, I think 20 cm is perfect for adults. But I also like wider ones sometimes, which I can pull halfway over my head when it gets really cold.

That depends on the type of wool used and what it’s worn for. I have some that are 20 cm wide, but also some that are 50 or 60 cm wide, for when I want to wear them as a hood over my head or when I need them to be really warm.
