Make a Doorstop

If you don’t want the door to slam shut while you’re airing out the room, a doorstop is really handy—and often very decorative, too. Now’s the time to make a beautiful new one by hand.

This is actually a doorstop, but once the hedgehog was finished, I just couldn’t bring myself to let it get kicked by a door all the time ;-) :-) Since then, he’s been sitting on the couch with my teddy bears. I found the pattern for it in an ancient craft magazine. :-)

Oh yes, I know that feeling too. I used to always worry when my grandchildren were visiting that they’d get their little fingers caught between the door and the doorframe and then a sudden draft would slam the door shut. I had to put an end to that nightmare!

That’s why I crocheted some doorstops. I’ve been using them for years. You can use them indoors and outdoors. They weigh over 4 kg and reliably hold any door in place. You’ll need 150 g of yarn per doorstop; you can also use leftover yarn.
