St. Nicholas, Reindeer, Gnomes + Christmas Tree Decorations

If you want to decorate your Christmas tree with homemade ornaments, it’s a good idea to start early. Here’s a DIY version for you: These beautiful glitter balls take a little time to make, but are otherwise very easy to recreate.



The ornaments, which are about 9 cm in size, are made from photo cardstock and decorated with glitter liner.

The reindeer coin purse is an original way to package a cash gift or gift certificate. To crochet it, besides a small purse clasp you only need about 25 g of light brown yarn and a few scraps in dark brown, red, black, and white.


You can also “package” a cash gift or gift certificate with the Kinder Surprise Santa. Santa is crocheted around the empty shell of a Kinder Surprise egg. That way you get a treat before crocheting too, because the chocolate covering isn’t needed for this project.



You’ll also find little Christmas gnomes to crochet in my shop: the Star Gnomes! Crochet them in lots of bright colors, then you can tie them together into a Christmas garland. Or use them as Christmas tree decorations or gift tags!
