Lucky ladybugs are a popular motif and quick and easy to crochet. That makes them especially great as beginner projects and projects for using up leftover yarn.

This lucky ladybug is crocheted with scrubby yarn, so it’s not only cute but also a useful dish sponge. Scrubby yarn has a slightly rough surface so you can use it to remove dried-on food residue effectively and gently. That’s why items made from scrubby yarn are also great for showering. But don’t worry: this roughness won’t bother you while crocheting!
