Crocheted hand puppets are a great way to incorporate your own ideas and let your imagination run wild—often, you don’t even need new yarn and can work with your leftover yarn instead. Of course, the characters from the Kasperl theater are universally popular and well-known.


Of course, nothing works without Kasperl. For him, you can use lots of colorful leftover yarn or a yarn with a relatively short, colorful gradient.

I always picture Seppel wearing lederhosen, a checked shirt, and a traditional hat—and that’s how I designed him. But of course, you’re completely free to “dress” him in whatever your leftover yarn allows.


Well, and if Seppel is wearing lederhosen, Gretel naturally has to wear a dirndl. I chose the color combination of red and blue. And of course, Gretel has her hair in braids—the typical “Gretchen hairstyle.”
