May we never run out of yarn, may our needles never break, and may our good spirits never leave us—no matter what the day brings.

I’m happy because my daughter is finally back home after her first summer job—a month later. She got a great job at the café by the outdoor pool in my parents’ town and was in good hands with Grandma and Grandpa. But after a month, we were both happy that she’s back home now.

Otherwise, this weekend we’re planning my mother-in-law’s birthday party—she’s turning a proud 88.

And of course, there’s still time for crocheting and knitting. The next winter is sure to come, and my son would rather have his new hoodie to wear yesterday than tomorrow.

It’s actually sunny again today, so I’ve already done a little crocheting on the balcony. Since it’s covered, we were even able to sit outside last night in the pouring rain—it’s warm enough, after all.

I think I’ve finally made up my mind, so I’ll probably start crocheting a top today—I’ve been mulling it over long enough.

And I still need to pick out a new book; I finished one last night.
Other than that, nothing special is planned—my husband isn’t feeling quite himself right now, so we’ll just take it easy and relax.

I’d also like to wish everyone here a wonderful weekend.

Yesterday was garden day for me. I pruned back a lot of my jungle and still need to take the green waste away today. After I could really feel every bone in my body by late afternoon, I retreated to my little cottage and started reading a new crime novel.

Maybe I’ll get to the sewing machine today—we’ll see. Right now the sun is shining and it’s nice and warm.

Veronika, best wishes to your husband for a speedy recovery. I hope he’s feeling better again soon.

Things will be very quiet around here, because starting today I have to use eye drops in preparation for my surgery on August 6. So you’ll be seeing less from me then, because once I can hardly see anything anymore, I’ll be keeping my laptop turned off.
