Busy little elves: what are you working on today?

dear little elves,
what are you working on today? Do you have a great project in progress?

Oh yes, I’ve got a great project going.

I’m sewing blocks for a quilt. Three are already done

Number one in pink



Number 2 is leaning toward blue



Number 3, pink again



It’s so much fun, and I hope my fabric stash will shrink a bit. I’m planning to make 30 blocks for a quilt for myself. 

The colors turned out really well 😍

And no, I’m not going to try my hand at the sewing machine.  Today I pulled my last UFO out of the basket again and even found the row in the knitting chart where I’d left off.... I knitted four rows tonight. It’s a sock (for St. Nicholas) knitted flat—not in the round. I just had to figure out how it works and see if I could pull it off. One will be enough 😉 

I’m knitting a “Mockele”; it’s actually meant to be crocheted, but I find crocheting very difficult, so I’m knitting it :-)
This afternoon I knitted a bit on my merino scarf, but thankfully there’s no rush with that one.
I’ll show you who and what the “Mockele” is when it’s finished .-)

“Mockele” does sound cute, though.

I’m still crocheting the temperature snake and knitting more squares for the patchwork quilt—both are long-term projects. The snake will, of course, be finished by December 31, but the quilt won’t be ready until next year, since I’ll be adding the leftover pieces from the snake to it as well.

“Moggele”—that’s what my mom always called little calves. I’m curious to find out what it means in the Franconian dialect.

I have the day off today and am sitting at the next block. Which fabric should I use? The dark one goes better with the blanket. 

Right now, I’m knitting a bag out of pretty thick cotton. Yesterday I started on the second piece of the bag. After that, I’ll work on two narrow side panels, and then I’ll put it all together somehow. I’ll also have to sew a lining; for that, I’ll probably use colorful cotton fabric squares. I want to keep the cost as low as possible.

Hi, I’m usually just a silent reader here, but it’s really interesting to see everything you all are sharing. I get great ideas and inspiration from you.
 I just made a pair of socks from leftover yarn for my grandson. Pattern here from crazypatterns. 
These definitely won’t be the last ones of this kind. 

The big ones turned out pretty. Little 🍄 mushrooms. A nice way to use up scraps.

My block is finished. It didn’t go as planned—I forgot to include the seam allowance when I was doing the math 🙈—but I’m happy with the result. 



So now there are 4 out of 30 🤣

I’m in the final stretch of a dragon scarf. Only about 10 rows left.

I’m crocheting this shawl for the second time

😍 Is that crocheted with the “ruler”? I saw online that people crochet the loops over a ruler to make them even.... 
I imagine that’s pretty fiddly with such thin yarn. But it’ll look really chic.... That’s exactly how I like crocheted clothing, too... 

Wow! That’s lovely. Where can I find the pattern for the scarf/shawl?
