Of course, we all want to enjoy the warmth of summer right now—but the weather can quickly remind us that it has other plans. It’s good to be prepared: just throw on a poncho, slip into a cozy cardigan, or wrap yourself in a blanket in the evening when it gets chilly.
I hope you enjoy my ideas.
Warm regards from Ina
1. Short Poncho
A thick poncho would be too much of a good thing, but a small, delicate one like this keeps you nice and warm too. The wool is very soft (extra-fine merino wool) and breathable. We knit lots of cables, and the cut is very simple. The white color of the poncho also makes it a perfect fit for summer.
2. Cardigan with a shawl collar
For those of you who feel the chill, a proper cardigan is probably a must on cool summer evenings. How about this style? It has a longer cut and reaches past the hips. It features two large pockets, a belt, and a wide, elongating shawl collar. You can really wrap yourself up in it. The color gradients come directly from the ball of yarn. We knit the cardigan in one piece as
a raglan from the top.
3. Knitted Blanket with Fringes
The quickest solution when you—or perhaps a guest—are feeling chilly on a summer evening is still a blanket. But be careful:
only blankets with a high wool content will actually keep you warm! For my blanket, you can use up all your leftover yarn. We knit only knit stitches and don’t have to weave in any ends. At the end, we simply tie the ends into decorative fringes. Every blanket is one-of-a-kind.
