Plotting. Decorating useful items. What do you prefer to work with? Vinyl or sublimation?

Hey there...
My wish list for materials keeps getting longer—there are so many ways to use the plotter. I’ve been looking more into decorating lately and stumbled upon sublimation....
  If you use vinyl, for example on bags and such, which kind do you use? My aunt, for example, prefers flock vinyl because it doesn’t “crack” even after frequent washing, unlike some iron-on vinyls.
What bothers me a bit about sublimation is that it doesn’t work on all materials.
Does anyone here have experience with sublimation?
