How about a doily with an owl motif, “Glubschauge”?

With the same pattern, you can knit potholders, washcloths, and dishcloths.
Several of my motifs combined can make a pillow cover, a table runner, a table band, or maybe even a whole tablecloth or a baby blanket.
The owl is also suitable as a motif for a children’s sweater.
For the motif, you only need knit and purl stitches.
