For doll clothes for small fashion dolls, I often use different materials at the same time.



For this magnificent princess dress, fabric was combined with crochet. The overdress is crocheted with glittery yarn and edged with sponge yarn. The underdress is a piece of foil jersey that is simply sewn on underneath the overdress with a few stitches. Foil jersey does not fray and therefore does not need to be hemmed. So no special sewing skills are required.




For the Black Forest girl, you need a small ready-made straw hat for the typical Bollenhut, onto which red pompoms are glued. The bodice of the traditional dress is crocheted from thin chenille yarn, and the skirt from cotton yarn. A black apron is part of the original traditional costume. To make it stand out against the skirt, I used thin filet crochet thread here. If you would like a little more color, you can also crochet the apron with red yarn. That works very well too.






This striped sweater is made with thin cotton yarn and plush yarn. Since plush yarn is not that easy to crochet with, I knitted the sweater. If you add a few more stripes, the sweater becomes a knitted dress.
