Happy weekend / today is World Wetlands Day / swamps / bogs

Dear users, dear designers,
I wish you a lovely weekend with plenty of time for crafting. Earlier I saw on the calendar that today is UNESCO World Wetlands Day / swamps / bogs, which is about preserving habitats like these, since by storing carbon dioxide, among other things, they are important for climate protection, provide habitats for many animals, protect groundwater, and in some cases also help protect against flooding. That is a worthwhile cause. 

What are you up to this weekend? Do you have an exciting new project?

Yes, the moors are a special habitat; I know of two of them—the Black Moor and the Red Moor in the Rhön. Visiting both was a must during my school days, especially during a stay at the Bauersberg school camp.

Yes, the moors are important, but this was recognized far too late. Reversing things after drainage isn’t easy at all. Let’s hope that a change in thinking finally begins and that we preserve the wonderful things we have. 

We have a quiet weekend ahead of us. I’ve finished a few embroidery pictures in the meantime and can now get to work on the sewing machine. One picture is supposed to end up being a heart. That’ll be exciting.

It’s supposed to rain here again, but I wonder if that’ll be enough for a bog.... Yes, it really took far too long to realize that draining the bogs wasn’t a good idea—just one of many issues. But the main thing is that something is finally being done in this direction.
This weekend will be quiet; I’m going out with a friend tomorrow evening to have game again, and other than that, nothing’s planned.
My husband’s birthday is next week, so we’ll celebrate it with the family next weekend, and then we’ll finally make up for the Christmas dinner we had to cancel.
