Old craft books

Today is my lucky day....

After shopping, I made a quick stop at our little book nook. And look what I found there



I can tell you, it was really hard to carry them all home. But I just couldn’t resist



Unfortunately, I already have this one—I already own two books from the series 



Don’t they look great all together on my bookshelf?



I quickly flipped through them all. Lots of great patterns, lots of embroidery, lots of sewing. I found a pair of pants just like the ones I used to have over 30 years ago.....

This weekend, I’m going to kick back and take a close look at every book.

Perfect reading for a cozy spot and a cup of tea.
I’m always on the lookout for little treasures like that too. Have fun with them.

Wow.... I can totally understand why you couldn’t resist there. 
I love old craft books; I have one from 1925 lying next to me right now. They are crochet patterns in old German script. Small doilies and lace for bed linen....

Wow, that’s truly a special treasure for craft lovers that you found there. I also have a very old craft book from around the time I was born. I treasure that one just as much.

I can really understand your excitement. Seeing these treasures in the local book exchange must have made your heart beat faster right away. You don’t come across a find like that every day. It’s perfectly okay to be absolutely thrilled.

I used to own this book series too, but they didn’t stay with me. At some point, you sort out what you still need and what you don’t. In my case, someone else—just like you—was delighted with the books, because mine also found their way into our local book exchange.

I hope you have a wonderful time studying these reference books. I’m sure you’ll find lots of creative inspiration. After all, all kinds of handicraft techniques were covered in them.

I just checked—there are 10 of these volumes on my bookshelf. There are a lot of classics in there. I’ll have to take a closer look.

It’s definitely worth checking out. I’m absolutely thrilled.

I discovered a few new knitting patterns, a few embroidery designs—Easter-themed—and a pair of pants pattern.

I made lots of bookmarks so I can find them again. Right now, I could really use four hands for all my ideas, or my day should be twice as long.

I found one of these last year in a box of books by the roadside and adopted it, and I have two more from my mom.
And I recently inherited this one—it’s a “reprint” from 1982

I’m always on the lookout for craft books, even at flea markets.

For 2 euros, I just couldn’t say no.
