Happy Weekend + Happy Holiday

Dear users, dear authors,
I wish you a wonderful weekend and a great holiday. Do you have plans, or do you just want to relax? Have all the Christmas cookies already been eaten, and the stollen too?

Tomorrow we’re celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday at a restaurant with all the kids, in-laws, and grandchildren.

Here in North Rhine-Westphalia, it’s not a holiday at all, but I still went shopping for the weekend today and took a little walk—it’s supposed to get pretty frosty over the next few days.
Tomorrow evening, I’m going out with a friend to try some game for dinner; I’m really looking forward to it. Other than that, nothing’s planned yet. We’ll make up for our postponed Christmas party at some point—not everyone is back to full health yet.

I’m in the same boat as Veronika; we don’t have a holiday either.
They’re saying the weather is about to change. Once the constant rain finally stops, I’m heading outside. Time to finally get some fresh air and shake off this cold.
Otherwise, I’m hard at work on my knitting projects.

@ Ina: I hope you have a wonderful birthday for your husband. Turning 70 is definitely something special. And a family celebration like that is special anyway!!

@ Veronika: Oh, I’m a little jealous. I like game too. Saddle of venison is my favorite.

@ Josefa: Thanks to my husband, cookies and stollen don’t last very long in our house :)

Dear Ina, I wish your husband a very happy birthday and hope you have a wonderful celebration. I’m turning 70 this year, too. :)

I went to the dentist today—not exactly a pleasant experience. Now I’m going to take this holiday weekend to recover from that and do a few nice things. Among other things, I’ll be baking some new cookies. The others were just eaten up too quickly.

@Ina - best birthday wishes to your husband, and I hope you all have a wonderful family celebration. A lovely occasion to sit together around a big table. 

Cookies and stollen - unfortunately, we’ve been sick since the first holiday, so the family get-togethers were canceled. We still have loads of Guzzle, fruit bread, and the panettone is still unopened on top of the cupboard. Christmas will be sticking around at our place for a little while longer.
