Amigurumi, Animals + Dolls: Make Cheerful Playmates Now

The cuddly bunny Hoppel is especially suitable as a toy for little babies. That’s because the body isn’t stuffed—instead, it’s easy for little hands to grip, just like a comfort blanket. The head and paws are crocheted from heavenly soft chenille yarn. The rest of the body is crocheted using cotton and plush yarn. This makes him very soft and gives him a very special texture that the baby can explore by touch. You can use leftover yarn for Hoppel—that way, he’ll turn out beautifully colorful.




Kiki the squirrel is an especially cute little creature who looks at you with big, shiny, trusting eyes. For the bushy tail, I used a long-haired fringed yarn. But you can also crochet it with acrylic yarn, which is then brushed vigorously with a pet brush to make it nice and fluffy. The rest of the body is made of cotton yarn, which gives the body stability.



People don’t usually like seeing moles in the garden, but Poldi the mole is so adorable that he’s allowed to move into the house. He certainly won’t cause any damage here and wants nothing more than to cuddle and be hugged.  In the picture on the left, you can see him crocheted with fine chenille yarn; on the right, with cotton yarn. Poldi is about 12 cm tall. If you use thicker chenille yarn, he’ll be correspondingly larger.
