Sayings for kids...

who can’t wait for Christmas :-)
When we were kids and asked our mom, “Mom, when is the Christ Child coming, and do you know what he’s bringing us?” we’d often get this standard reply if we pestered her too much with our questions: “You’ll get a little golden nothing, a little silver ‘wait a while,’ and a little box to put it in.”
I’m sure you all remember similar sayings from your own childhood :-)

Back when we used to ask our parents what kind of compote we were having, the answer was: “Kids’ questions sprinkled with sugar.”
I can’t think of anything specific to Christmas right now.

Given our long and elaborate wish lists, our mom always said:
“You can wish for anything, but whether you get it is another matter.”
