Dear users, dear authors,
what are you working on right now? What’s the status of your UFOs?

The topic of the day is still the temperature blanket—I’m really going to miss that next year.
And in the meantime, I’ve got two UFOs, but only for a short while. I messed up again. Things aren’t going well with DPD here at all, so I usually pay close attention to the shipping method when placing orders. Usually…
I ran out of packing material here. No more wool scraps, no shirt to cut up, nothing. So I need some stuffing—and I need it before the (last) weekend. Amazon Prime is actually good for something after all—ordered on Friday, supposed to arrive Saturday, great. But unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller uses DPD…
On Saturday, I got a notification about a failed delivery attempt at 8:57 a.m. Of course we were home, and of course no one rang the doorbell—we’re used to that from them.
Then it was scheduled for Monday between 12:04 and 1:04 p.m., but of course it didn’t arrive then either. So I wrote to them saying they didn’t need to deliver it at all anymore; I’d just buy another one. And of course I let the seller know that too, around 6 p.m. or so.
At 8:30 p.m., the doorbell rang; I answered, and someone downstairs silently tossed something into the stairwell and disappeared again. So I went to check, and lo and behold, it was the stuffing. Stupid DPD!
Oh well, but that means I’ll finish those two UFOs tomorrow or the day after, and then I’ll have to pick out something new to work on.

For me, it’s still the cardigan I’m working on. I already have a new knitting project in mind, BUT I won’t start that until the cardigan is finally finished. I’m on the right front piece—that is, the second one—so there’s still plenty of work to do before it’s done.

Best regards, Inge

Hi, I always redirect my DPD packages to the gas station (DPD pickup shop). That works well here.

@Veronika   I always buy stuffing pillows. They work just as well as stuffing.
Best regards, Marlies

I’m working on my double-face sock.
I’m knitting the sock with a heel flap.

Help, I just counted, I have 11 UFOs 😲
1) I need to see about one crocheted with Tunisian drop stitch (it does look great, but color-wise it was a bad buy for me 😇). Somehow the yarn is great, but since I definitely won’t wear it, it’s been sitting around for ages.
2+3) The UFOs are birthday gifts that absolutely have to be finished.
4) Another shadow shawl that I somehow don’t like the shape of anymore 🤔 too nice to rip out; maybe I’ll have to think of something and finish it differently 🤔
5) a crochet shawl started in summer (for the garden) - I think garden season is over and I should bring it inside into the warm and finish it 🙃
6) a crochet shawl intended for vacation - for crocheting on the go
7) a loop scarf knitted sideways - as an in-between project for when I need a different color and don’t want to think much
8) a test knit for a rather “heavy yarn”; somehow you have to work through the stash
9+10) shawls started as test knits, made from leftover gradient cakes
11) a crochet loop scarf for in between or for longer car rides
planned
one more Christmas gift
way too many ideas for me 😂😂

Susanne, I have even more......

I’m always sewing little gift bags to keep in stock. And as long as I don’t have a gift, my UFOs go in there. Some of them are already safely stored away, while others are lying around in various drawers and boxes.

I’m proud to say that no new UFOs have been added lately. Whatever I started was either unraveled when I realized it wasn’t going to work out, or it was finished.

Today I finished one UFO. All that was left to do was weave in the ends. It’s a dishcloth where I tried out a pattern. Either it’ll be a gift, or I’ll keep it for myself.

Hi Petra,
great idea with the gift bags 👍
Usually, when I see something interesting, I want to try it out right away. My mistake was that I was looking for a “portable” project to take on vacation and then, just to be safe, I started working on four different things at once 🙃
Then a “special request” from a friend got in the way, and that one dragged on a bit (since I had to rip it out completely once 😇).
And then there were the ideas from a friend (who only crochets)—she said, “With THAT yarn, I’d love to have… (knitted).”
Somehow, more and more of her yarn keeps ending up with me (it’s not urgent, but… I thought it could become a Christmas gift, though that still has to be made).
Then there’s a “commissioned birthday gift” from my mom for my aunt…
AND somehow I also want to make something for MYSELF 😉
Or I’ve “had my fill” of one color and need a different one—or I want to try out a new yarn—the possibilities are endless 😇😂😂

Most of the time, I’ve found the “right/suitable” pattern for each type of yarn, but for THAT ONE with the Tunisian drop stitch—I’ve already gone through three patterns—and I’m still not sure (I just find Tunisian crochet pretty “exhausting” 🙁 (But it looks great—if only the colors were my colors😂)
