Warm gloves

My first pair is almost finished. I want to make the next pair even warmer, but not too thick at the fingers.
I could line them, of course, but I think I’d rather use a thicker stitch pattern on the back of the hand.

Are there any photos of the finished gloves?

Well, they’re pretty simple, but perfect for this time of year. I really enjoyed making them.

Wow, really beautiful.

I haven’t dared to try anything like that yet. Are the individual fingers knitted with a set of double-pointed needles? If so, how many stitches are there per finger?

Thanks, yes, I knitted them with a set of double-pointed needles. It’s not much different from knitting socks; the fingers are knitted one after the other. That makes 15–20 stitches per finger, spread across 3 needles.

Of course, that varies a lot depending on the yarn and the size of the hand.

After knitting socks, I wanted to try something new.

Wow, they look great, exactly my color 💙.
Working with so few stitches on the set of double-pointed needles must be quite fiddly.
Best regards

Yes, 5 stitches per needle—but there are also very short sets of double-pointed needles. I’ll have to give that some thought.

@RechteMasche—thanks for the info. They’ve definitely turned out absolutely beautiful.

I’m looking forward to seeing the next pair and how you’ll make them warmer.

They turned out really nice....😍

....and the fingers aren’t that fiddly to knit, either. I just knitted fingerless ones with thumbs... I had 21 stitches on the magic loop there...
To keep the individual “fingers” from getting in the way while knitting, I pull the finished ones into the glove...
I read somewhere that “they” knit the gloves double, tuck them inside each other, and then knit them together with the cuff... I guess that would have to be a provisional cast-on 🤔 It was in Swedish, so I could only look at the pictures.
