Working with yellow and orange: keep summer going a little longer

This children’s sweater can be wonderfully knitted with sock yarn. It fit my granddaughter from age 5 and still fits her now at 7.

The button placket and collar make this sweater something special.

To the knitting pattern

The sunflower symbolizes late summer and heralds the arrival of fall. That’s why the Sunflower Flower Child is on my seasonal table in both summer and fall.It is about 12 cm tall and has flexible arms and legs, so you can display it in different poses. It proudly carries its 20 cm sunflower in its arms and enjoys the last warm rays of sunshine.



And here’s another little flower child from my seasonal table, but this one clearly belongs to fall: the Pumpkin Flower Child. It wears a bright orange balloon skirt and a matching little cap. Just like the Sunflower Child, you can bend its limbs.And of course, it also has a big pumpkin with it.

My harbinger of spring is also wonderful for winter. With the colors yellow and orange, you can at least keep the summer colors even in winter.

You will need 300 g of yarn in sock yarn weight; I knitted mine with alpaca silk.
