Perfect for finally using up those leftover bits of black and white.
I always have leftover ends of a skein, since you often need white and black as contrasting colors.
For the potholder, you only need at most 15 g per color.
Of course, double that amount if you make 2.

And here is the pattern
Crochet pattern: Potholder with 3D look (cube)

Have fun crocheting, and always with enthusiasm...

10–20 g of leftover yarn and a crochet hook. Some stuffing and a needle.
Single crochet, increases and decreases, chain stitches. Then this cute cat will soon be dangling from your keyring or your bag.

With leftover yarn, stuffing, and a crochet hook, you can crochet these little mice, which come in many variations—as a small gift to bring along, as a good luck charm... or just because.

e.g. the Baby Mouse

or also the little Guardian Angel Mouse

... of course, there are even more patterns for mini mice in my shop

are these really all the patterns for leftover yarn that were newly uploaded in July?
I think there were quite a few more :- )
You can also find leftover-yarn patterns in the shop here.

You can make great crocheted flowers with leftover yarn.
But if you’re not in the mood for that anymore, how about a skull made from leftover yarn?

An illustrated crochet pattern with step-by-step instructions and plenty of tips on how to make your cable necklace even and beautiful. Perfect for beginners. Necklace length: 42 cm. Crochet hook: 5 mm. However, it works with any crochet hook and leftover yarn. You can make your necklace any length you like and adjust the thickness as desired.

A wonderful way to use up leftovers are these preemie socks for a total foot length starting at 4.5 cm.
They can also be used as doll socks, keychains, or as a money gift wrap, or even to decorate a Christmas tree – there are no limits to your imagination. The pattern, together with the sock chart, can be used for additional sock sizes up to shoe size 20.

This pattern is available at:

Have fun,

Ideal for smaller amounts of leftover yarn is the pattern for my Advent calendar bags.
You only need about 17 g of cotton yarn per bag (yardage 125 m/50 g), and you can customize each bag individually (stripe sequence, stripe width, etc.).
You can also finish one of the bags now and then in between other projects; they make great quick stash-busting projects.

Here’s the pattern!

(unfortunately no image will upload...sorry...)

Hello! I’d like to throw out an idea and I’m not sure if I’m in the right place.
A while back, I bought a small knitting dolly from Buttinette—the kind with a little crank on it. I use it to use up all my leftover sock yarn and any other thinner yarn. I’ve already knitted a rug runner from these scraps and made a pretty crocheted cover for a flower pot.
I improvised the whole thing without a pattern.

If your leftover yarn is already piling up and you’ve set aside a box just for it, you can also easily crochet a scrap poncho for yourself or your daughter/granddaughter!

The poncho can be made with any type of yarn and hook size, and the detailed pattern will help even beginners to crocheting and making garments achieve a great result.

You should know how to do:
double crochet and slip stitches

Here’s what you’ll need:
Depending on the desired size, 50–500 g of yarn and a suitable crochet hook.

I have one just like this in a larger size, but in a solid color. It’s been keeping me company through the fall for a few years now and is still totally on-trend.

Hi Garnelf,

I think these will always be popular. They’re just so practical.

Best regards, Birgit

Angels are indispensable at Easter too. And if you have an angel and even a fairy on your breakfast table, what could possibly go wrong.....
Single crochet, puff stitches, increases and decreases. The egg cozies are quick to crochet and can be decorated however you like.

Have fun crocheting.

Our four-legged friends need a warming sweater during the transitional season, too...
A great way to use up leftover yarn and really quick to knit up - suitable for beginners, too!

The pattern is also clearly illustrated with photos.

The size is designed for a fully grown French Bulldog.
Of course, it also fits dogs of about the same size.

For more details, just click on the image below.

When we look at the calendar, Easter really isn't that far away anymore...

The leftover-yarn basket is almost overflowing, so how about knitting the Easter decorations for the pussy willow arrangement yourself?

With a little practice, a decorative egg can be knitted and finished in just under an hour! So there's still plenty of time to fill the "pussy willow bouquet"!

A detailed, illustrated e-book (14 pages) guides you through 11 different patterns. It explains step by step how to make the decorative egg.

For more details, just click on the image.
