Craft Forum vs. Local Craft Group

Dear users, dear authors,
What do you find here that you wouldn’t find in an offline craft group?

You’ll find great craft patterns here.

Oh, there isn’t even a local craft group where people could meet up to do crafts together.

There are craft and needlework classes available for a fee, but I rarely attend them. 

Aside from the fact that there aren’t any local craft groups here anyway, the scope of a forum like this is naturally much broader. A real-life group would probably meet to crochet or knit together—maybe both—but sewing would require a whole different kind of space.
Here, every technique is represented; no matter what you want to try, someone can help you out. And when everyone showcases their work, that’s what gives you the idea in the first place that you could try something different from what you’re used to. So it’s basically window shopping and sharing experiences all in one. Awesome.
