Alert Day / Germany: September 14 at 11 a.m.

Dear users and authors,
the warning system will be tested again tomorrow.
I'm curious to see how it goes compared to the last Warning Day. 

Alert Day? Or Embarrassment Day, given how the last few Alert Days went. Let’s hope it works this time, because my cell phone didn’t make a peep during the last two Alert Days

Better to make a fool of ourselves on Warning Day and then improve / work on it than to have no warning in a real emergency.

Everything’s working here, including my cell phone—right from the start.
Yeah, I agree—it’s better to test it more often than to end up looking foolish later on.

I guess that’s supposed to be tested at a different time.

Well, it worked here.

I was in an online meeting, and at 11 a.m. sharp, everyone suddenly looked confused and had their cell phones in hand 😅—at least everyone from Germany did.

It really lifted the mood; everyone ended up laughing 😅

We didn’t hear a thing again. Not a peep!

My cell phone went off right on time, but the siren stayed silent.

I was on the phone with a colleague from Fürth at that moment, and then the siren went off

It started here too. I was lying on the treatment table at my physical therapy session right at 11 a.m.—first my cell phone, then every siren in and around the village went off

The cell phone alert went off right at 11 a.m. here.
And with a slight delay,
the siren went off at 11:11 a.m. I agree that it’s better to test the system more often—even if there are “glitches”—because that’s how we can find and fix them.

Everything worked perfectly here, too. Except my husband’s cell phone didn’t make a sound.... “Did you turn it on?” “No, why?” Men.... 🤣

It worked here today, too—right at 11:00 a.m. sharp, with a loud alarm on my phone and the warning message in huge text. 👍🏼

Hopefully it’ll work just as well in an emergency. Maybe it also depends on where you are at the moment, because of reception and stuff.

It worked great here.
I was at the dentist’s office at the time.
The staff member’s phone went off—no, wait, I had mine on silent, but the sound was coming from my bag…
I pulled my phone out, looked puzzled—that wasn’t my ringtone. At first, I thought my phone was broken 🤣
 When I said it was a drill alert, all the assistants rushed off to turn off their phones too. 🤣 Everyone outside on the street stopped too—it looked pretty funny... 😂
