Advent Calendars 2023: Great Ways to Use Up Leftovers + Beginner-Friendly Patterns

This wintry forest isn’t just a great decoration in December—it also makes an excellent Advent calendar. The little trees aren’t hard to crochet. They’re hollow inside and open at the bottom, so there’s room for a little surprise underneath. The fir trees can be made in different sizes by simply crocheting a few more or fewer rounds. The tree for December 24 can then be decorated in a special way. Different shades of green create a particularly realistic look, and artificial snow (cotton balls) and small forest animals complete the scene.
