It’s not a holiday here in Baden-Württemberg. But today the sun is shining brightly, and there’s not a rain cloud in sight when I look outside.

Tonight I’m going out to dinner with some friends—keep your fingers crossed that it stays warm and dry. Sitting in a beer garden is so much nicer than being inside. 

Thank you, and I wish you all a wonderful Tuesday, too. It’s not a holiday in North Rhine-Westphalia either, and the weather is awful—gloomy, gray, and totally muggy; my circulation is all over the place.

Thanks, Josefa. It’s a holiday here, but only in predominantly Catholic areas, and even there, the rules have loosened considerably in recent years. In many neighboring towns, the stores are open, but our village is observing the holiday.
