Leather Alternatives

Dear users and authors,
which leather alternatives do you like best?

There’s some really great faux leather out there these days—not that hard plastic stuff from back in the day—and it even comes in all kinds of embossed patterns. So now I have a snakeskin bag, too, without any snakes having to die for it. I think it’s really beautiful.

So-called “washed leather” is also an alternative to real leather. This washed leather looks somewhat like suede.

SnapPap is also a great alternative. It’s washable paper—really sturdy and durable.

I still have a few rolls of SKY material in my basement left over from when I used to make
bags…it’s super versatile….
