Using Sock Yarn + Leftover Sock Yarn

Sock yarn is wonderful for knitting children’s clothing. This has many advantages—most importantly, it’s machine-washable.

I knitted this sweater for my 5-year-old granddaughter. It still fit her even at age 7—an absolute favorite of both hers and her mother’s. The collar keeps her neck and throat nice and warm. The button placket makes it easy to put on and take off and adds that special touch.

The sweater has no seams and is easy to knit, provided you have good knitting skills. The pattern explains every step in detail, including photos.

I like to crochet doll clothes for my granddaughter from sock yarn. She’s always happy to get more. You don’t need much, and you quickly get beautiful results. I hope you have lots of fun making them.

Poncho in various versions

The cut is super easy. We first knit the basic poncho and can then decide on a design option. If you like, you can also crochet an extra collar and a hat. That way, you can always vary the outfit when dressing the doll.
