I'm not entirely sure, but I'd interpret the top one as a picot, and the arch is probably chain stitches; there is also a 3 there, so 3 chain stitches.

The first one is a picot (3 chain stitches, one single crochet in the first chain stitch)
and the second one is an arch made of three chain stitches
