Authors’ Forum Display

Hey,
I have a question:
Since yesterday, I’ve been seeing posts in the “Recent Activity” section and among my unread posts that have a red asterisk in front of them, and I can’t open or read them because I’m not an author.
Before, those weren’t visible to me at all, which I’d prefer, but I can’t seem to change the settings back. Can I get rid of this, or was this change made on purpose?

Veronika, it’s not just you—I see those posts too, but I figured there must be some technical glitch going on :-) ;-) because otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing them.
