Dear users, dear authors,
here you’ll find clever ideas for using leftover yarn / scraps of all kinds. Have fun upcycling.

@Authors,
2–3 patterns per author are enough. All patterns presented here must be doable with scraps / leftover yarn, must have at least 10 sales / a CR of at least 3%, and must not have been presented in the forum in the past 3 weeks.

Leftover yarn is wonderful! You can crochet or knit all sorts of pretty little things with it. Here are a few examples from me:

Advent calendar

You need 24 different colors; small leftovers are enough. Use them to crochet 24 little pouches. Then fill them with surprises and arrange them nicely on a tray or on a hanger. If you have several grandchildren, it’s wise to start in good time. Of course, the little pouches are also great for small surprises on the breakfast table.

Insoles made from leftover felting wool

These soft insoles make every pair of shoes comfortable to wear. The insoles insulate your feet against cold from below. They are breathable and do not absorb odors. You can make them from any wool that felts. They are knitted, felted in the washing machine, and then cut to the right size. A template is included in the pattern.

Swimsuit for small dress-up dolls

You only need 5 g of yarn for one swimsuit. A crochet chart is included. Add a little decoration afterward, and you have a pretty summery outfit for playing.

It may be summer now, but the next winter is sure to come. I knitted these wrist warmers from merino scraps. They’re perfect for working on the computer in winter. Cold hands are a thing of the past.

The wrist warmers are very easy to knit.

Not just in the fall—even now in the summer, draped prettily on a tray with a lantern, these glittery mushrooms look absolutely lovely ♥

They’re super easy to crochet; you only need a little yarn for the stem and cap, and of course, you can also crochet the caps with any other type of yarn (e.g., scrubby yarn).

You can crochet a colorful crate with lots of different kinds of fruit for the kids’ pretend shop using leftover yarn. They are very simple shapes, but the result is impressive. If you use the right colors, your fruit will look almost real. The pattern includes instructions for apples, pears, peaches, bananas, oranges, lemons, cherries, plums, grapes, kiwi, pineapple, and melon.

You can download it right here!

Of course, the kids’ pretend shop also has a vegetable section. With this pattern, you can crochet the following: kohlrabi, bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, corn, leeks, and cauliflower. The instructions for the basket are also included in the pattern.

Here’s the download for the crochet pattern for the vegetables!
