Josefa, you sure ask a lot of questions😁😂 I’d have to check first to see when Pentecost even is.😏
I have no idea what we’ll be doing then—it’s still a while away.
You could maybe try embroidering again sometime.
Since we’ve had the embroidery subforum, you’ve somehow almost completely stopped embroidering. That’s a shame.
No, Josefa, I’m currently knitting a hat, but I have to take it a little slower this time because the arthritis in my right hand is really bothering me. Then I plan to knit another jacket, but I have to buy some yarn first😁😊
I’ll be in the hospital right on Pentecost to have a torn shoulder tendon stitched up.
After that, I won’t be allowed to move my arm at all for 4 weeks, followed by up to 6 months of physical therapy to get back in shape.
I’m so looking forward to it :-(
Who knows if I’ll even be able to crochet anymore after that...
Well then, best of luck with your surgery and a very smooth recovery afterward—a torn tendon is no joke; I know from personal experience. In my case, though, it was my Achilles tendon that I’d torn 95% of the way, so I had to wear a so-called “astronaut boot” day and night for about three months. I still feel it today—whenever the weather changes, it all hurts. But as the saying goes, “What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger.” :-)
@Schneckenkind: All the best for your upcoming surgery and a speedy recovery. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. @Petra: Wishing you a relaxing vacation in the sunshine
I’m already counting down the days—just three more weeks, then we’re on vacation. And our wedding anniversary falls during that time, too. If the sun is shining too, everything will be perfect.
We want to go away, but we haven’t decided on an exact destination yet. We’re flexible about that.
Yeah, that’s right, Petra. It works out perfectly this month. We’ve been looking forward to it all year. Going out for a nice meal, relaxing. Maybe going to the movies again for the first time in a loooong time—that’ll be great.
I’m sure it’s been over 10 years since I’ve been to the movies.
One more thing: my parents’ wedding anniversary is on May 15, so the four of us are going out to eat together (I have the day off then, too)—that’ll be nice—and May 14 is Mother’s Day. Everything’s all happening close together.
I’m going to get some flowers and make a little gift.
Our wedding anniversary falls on the Thursday before Pentecost this year—that means we’ve been married for 33 years :-)—but we’ve been together for over 41 years. What we’ll do for Pentecost is still up in the air, since my husband can barely walk 200 meters (his hip starts acting up, but there’s nothing wrong with the bone—no abnormalities were found; he’s had two MRIs). So it looks like we’ll stay home again and keep ourselves busy there.
Dear friends,
thank you so much for the kind wishes :-)
Right now I can’t hear anything either, because I have fluid in both ears.
That brings so many complications with it ... You can’t drive anymore, for example.
In any case, I wish you all a wonderful Pentecost, happy wedding anniversaries, and relaxing vacations :-*
