Counting pattern for a tablecloth

I'd like to create my own chart for a tablecloth. Is it possible to do that on a computer? Maybe with a program? I've never done this before, but I'd like to give it a try.

You can do it, but you’ll need at least a program that can actually convert it. You can’t just draw lines and dots—you’ll need a digitizing program for that.

I also make my crochet charts using Excel.
Eventually, the picture below will become a table runner. First, I make the Excel spreadsheet, then I start crocheting.
Whether it turns out as pretty as I imagine it will be remains to be seen.
