Yeah, exactly, Petra—they’re both for me. I need pants that fit, not ones where I can practically bring a roommate along because they’re so baggy :-) All my pants are at least size 54, and that’s way too big now—I only need size 50. Love, Inge

A great reason to update my wardrobe!

Veronika, I just finished working out my pants pattern from the pattern sheet—the large lower pattern piece was my size 1 1/2–2 years ago (56), and now I only need a size 50 :-)

I’d like that casual pant pattern, too. I’m sure they’ll be super comfortable. And I really like the little floral pattern for them as well. I hope you have a lot of fun cutting, sewing, and wearing them.

What kind of fabric is that, by the way? Pure cotton jersey or a blend of...???

The Ina cotton jersey is 95% cotton and 5% spandex—that’s how I like it best :-)

Yeah, Inge, you’re right. That’s how I like it best, too. The cotton fibers for that breathable, skin-friendly feel, and just a bit of spandex for the fit. Perfect! Have fun sewing. I think the pants pockets are so cool, too.

Wow, I really like the pants too—including your fabric, Inge. I also prefer them this comfortable and have a few pairs like that. If only I were as eager to sew as you and Ina are. I’m just not feeling it at all right now. But that will come eventually... for now, it’s just the wool that’s calling to me.

Dear Monika, it actually took me a full 55 years for my passion for sewing to take hold. You can’t force it… passions come when and how they want—or maybe not at all. There’s no way to force it. Still, it’s okay to admire what others do. If you’re happy with your wool (right now), then that’s exactly the right thing for you!

Dear Ina, I’ve been through this before, back when my son was little. But I had more time back then. Of course, I’ll get around to it again someday. I already have the fabrics, thread, and sewing machine. :)

In the meantime, I really enjoy admiring your masterpieces.

So, the first of the two pairs of pants is finished; the jeans aren’t quite done yet, but I’m working on them [image removed]

today the 2nd pair of pants was finished too, but it took a while because I inserted a gusset at the bottom that I embroidered beforehand. I knew
the jeans would be too tight at the bottom, since it isn’t stretchy denim
so how to solve that? okay, you’ve got an embroidery machine, so make a gusset and
embroider it, and not just the pant leg like that. It’s something different, and I’m the one
who has to like it, nobody else. Otherwise, the pattern is the same as for the
blue multicolored pants
