Silk thread

Dear users, dear authors,
as far as I know, silk thread works well for embroidery. Can it be used for anything else?

since I also make micro amigurumi, I often use very thin silk thread to crochet tiny little animals. They end up being about 2–3 cm “tall.” For this, I use a size 0.35 crochet hook—and, of course, a magnifying glass. It’s more time-consuming than making a regular-sized amigurumi, but it’s fun :-) 

Still a work in progress—but this beautiful silk yarn makes for a great mesh shirt for summer

Another yarn—silk blended with cotton—is still waiting for the right idea, and for fall I’m already planning a project using cashmere and silk (amazing yarn...). I love the feel of silk against my skin...
