Babies need something to cuddle and snuggle with! Stuffed animals should be soft and cuddly and contain no small parts that could be dangerous to babies. That’s why I always embroider the eyes on stuffed animals for babies and don’t use so-called safety eyes, because especially with crocheted animals, they can slip out through the gaps between the stitches.
Mauzi the Cuddly Cat is therefore ideal as a baby’s first toy. She is crocheted from three types of yarn (cotton, chenille, and plush yarn). The body is not stuffed so that the baby can grasp it more easily. The face is embroidered.

Music boxes are also a popular gift for babies. If you crochet a music box yourself, you can decide which melody you want to use. There are many more options than the well-known lullabies. Maybe the mom has a favorite song she’d like to share with her child?
The
Music Box Lamb above was crocheted by me from plush yarn (together with an accompanying thread). But you can also use another yarn of similar thickness for it.

Babies like to be nice and warm. And sometimes they suffer from gas. What could be better than a stuffed animal that helps with exactly that?
Bibo the Warming Monkey is a cover for a grain pillow. The grain pillow can be warmed in the microwave and then tucked back into Bibo’s tummy. Now Bibo can warm up the crib or soothe a tummy ache!
