Little Summer Dress with Box Pleat for Minis

Hello everyone,

I recently traded for a small piece of cotton jersey in my swap exchange. The little pears on it really caught my eye.



I used it to sew a little summer dress with a box pleat in size 80.



What’s special here is that I stitched around the hems on the sleeves and at the bottom in a contrasting color using a zigzag stitch. This gives the fabric edges a lovely decorative finish, with colors that are picked up again in the little dress.





Otherwise, I still find the American neckline very practical, because the head always fits through the opening and you don’t need any snaps.



As a special eye-catcher, I sewed a small bow from the pink cotton jersey fabric and stitched it firmly above the opening box pleat.



Since I still have a bit of fabric left over, I’m going to sew a small headscarf to go with it. I’ll show it to you soon.

And I really appreciate that you take a closer look and notice everything I’ve put into this garment. These aren’t off-the-rack items from a department store where you have to take things as they are. No, you decide every detail yourself—and then you have to bring it to life.
