My name is Nina
I live in: Kaarst/Germany
I have 5 children and am married.
I am 44 years old.
Since 2013, I have been a designer on Crazypatterns, where you can find me under the name ZwergnaseBaer.

My favorite craft:
That’s a hard choice for me. Knitting and crocheting are right at the top.

How I got into crafting:
My great-grandma did a lot of crafting. She sewed, knitted, crocheted, and embroidered. So did my great-aunt, with whom I spent pretty much
every school vacation. Both of them taught me a lot. In elementary school
we also embroidered and crocheted. My friend and I
spent what felt like forever walking around with a little craft basket in the
schoolyard.
For many years after that, I didn’t do any crafts—as a teenager, that just wasn’t “in” in the ’90s...
Then my husband’s grandmother and her
passion for cross-stitch brought me back to crafting. And thanks to my first son,
I also—finally—got into sewing.
And then I got “hooked” and now I can’t live without yarn, thread, etc.

What I absolutely still want to learn craft-wise:
Bobbin lace-making. To be honest, I don’t really know what I would “do” with finished bobbin lace pieces, but the technique, the artistry,
and the delicate intricacy of bobbin lace fascinate me.

I live here: Paderborn
I have ____4____ children and am married.
I am _42_ years old.
I have been an author on Crazypatterns since _2016___, and can be found there under the name __Crafting Cafe__.

My favorite craft: SEWING!
But I also enjoy making soap and can crochet :)

How I got into crafts: My grandma was a seamstress and taught me a lot when I was a child. The rest came gradually :).

What I definitely still want to learn craft-wise:
In the area of “sewing,” I still want to try out and master quite a few things. I’d also like to do macramé again sometime; I did it as a child and thought it was great.

My name is Petra.
I live here: Düsseldorf
Unfortunately, I don’t have any children, and I’m married.
I’m 67 years old.
I’ve been a designer on Crazypatterns since 2014, where you can find me under the name UrsulaPetra.

My favorite crafts: knitting and crocheting

How I got into crafting:
I never enjoyed crafts at school; I even managed to get a grade of 5 once :)
When my nephew was born 40 years ago, I caught the knitting bug. Since then, I’ve been knitting and crocheting almost exclusively baby and children’s items. My motto: I like it colorful.

What I definitely still want to learn craft-wise:
Sewing!! I’ve already tried it a little and even bought a machine.

My name is Petra Perle
I live here: in the Bavarian Forest
I have 2 children and am married
I am 60 years old.
I’ve been a designer on Crazypatterns since 2016 and can be found there under the name Petra Perle.
My favorite craft: Crocheting
How I got into crafts:

As a child, I was already fascinated by anything to do with crafts—I grew up in a workshop. My mother taught me how to knit and embroider at an early age, and painting and crafting have always been my favorite pastimes. But I didn’t really get into crocheting until 8 years ago.

What I’d really like to learn next in terms of crafts:

I’d like to improve my skills in all the techniques I already know.

My name is Anja Liebertz
I create knitting patterns under the name AnlisStrickideen

I live here: near Cologne
I don’t have any children and have been married to the same man for over 30 years.
I’m 55 years old.
I’ve been an author on Crazypatterns since 2016, where you can find me under the name AnlisStrickideen.

My favorite craft: knitting

How I got into crafting:
I’ve always been passionate about art and have tried quite a few things, but I found my personal yoga in knitting. It helps me switch off and unwind.
Since I used to customize all the patterns I bought, at some point I just started knitting off the cuff.
When more and more people asked me to write it all down, I started doing that in 2015, and I still really enjoy it.

What I definitely still want to learn craft-wise:
I’d like to keep improving in everything and am open to almost anything.

My name is Birte and I live in Stuttgart. I’m now 56 years old. I’ve been married for many years and am the mother of four wonderful children. I’ll soon be a grandmother and am really looking forward to my grandchild.

For me, crafting and writing patterns is a hobby that helps me relax and sometimes challenges me. I also find relaxation in gardening, listening to music, reading, or watching movies.

Professionally, I’m very busy right now. I work full-time as a lecturer in technical product design. Teaching brings me a lot of joy, even if the preparations are sometimes time-consuming. That’s when I look forward to my evening crafting sessions.

My mother taught me how to crochet and knit when I was a young girl. I don’t remember exactly how I got into writing patterns. In any case, I discovered the Crazypatterns website online and was thrilled by the wide variety of creative and imaginative patterns. I just had to get involved…
So I’ve been part of the community since 2019.

My favorite craft is crocheting in all its forms. I’m especially passionate about hairpin lace crochet. Right now, I’m exploring Tunisian crochet; there are so many patterns I’d love to try. Felting is a craft technique I’d like to try my hand at in the near future.

How I got into crafts: I had craft lessons at school, and my mother taught me how to knit.
What I’d really like to learn next in terms of crafts: I’d love to be able to do bobbin lace—so far, the many bobbins have put me off a bit.

My name is Marike, and I live with my husband and our two children in beautiful Switzerland. I was born and raised in Swabia, though. I’m 37 years old and a trained pharmaceutical technician, but since the birth of our daughter, who has early-onset autism, I’ve been a stay-at-home mom and enjoy spending so much time with my children. Four years and four days later, a little brother joined the family, and together they wonderfully turn my world upside down.

I’m still pretty new here as an author ;-) I only opened my little shop in the fall of 2022, and you can find me there under the name mermieswelt.

I got into crocheting thanks to my mom, who has always loved doing all kinds of crafts and patiently and enthusiastically taught me the basics when I was a child. Back then, though, I was much more interested in drawing, and it wasn’t until many years later—when I was pregnant with my first child—that I picked up a crochet hook again. Since then, crocheting has become an integral part of my hobbies. It’s my oasis, my escape from the day, my way of relaxing.

I’ve always enjoyed designing things myself, whether through drawing, writing stories, photography, graphic design, or now, crocheting. But it wasn’t until early 2022 that, thanks to my husband’s constant encouragement, I finally found the courage to write down my designs and turn them into patterns.

One thing I’d love to learn is knitting. I’ve already tried it three times and given up three times, but I’m not one to give up that easily. Someday I’ll try again and succeed… maybe ;-)

My name is Sabine. I live here: in the eastern part of Munich. I have _____4___ children and am married. I am __43__ years old. I’ve been an author on Crazypatterns since ____2022____, and can be found there under the name ____Sabines Wooly World___. My favorite craft is actually crocheting, even though I also enjoy knitting.
But I love crocheting in all its forms and techniques the most. How I got into crafts: It just happened naturally—all the women in my family knitted, and they’d always do it whenever we got together. And even when I was all grown up and living on my own, I’d visit my grandma; we’d drink coffee and knit.
Then I moved to Sicily, and that’s where my passion for crocheting really took off. First, filet crochet with a 1.0 mm hook… then beautiful, airy clothing. What I’d really like to learn next in terms of crafting:
Although I learned how to do “chiaccherino”—better known here as tatting—during my time in Italy, it took me a full 4 hours to make a lace piece that was maybe 5 cm long, and I’ve since forgotten everything.
It would be nice to remember how it’s done. 🥰 What defines me:__ My passion is always trying new things, and I love combining techniques. For example, I have a project where I’m combining Tunisian crochet with “regular” crochet.___

My name is Janine
I live here: in Bremen
I have a 3-year-old daughter and am married.
On paper, I’m 33 years old, but mentally I’m still stuck at 21 😂

I’ve been an author on Crazypatterns since 2022/2023, where you can find me under the name vonkrochet.

My favorite craft: definitely crochet

How I got into crafts: When I was pregnant (2020), the pandemic was just starting; we were home a lot, and at some point I was no longer allowed to work during my pregnancy. So I had a lot of time and taught myself :)

What I really want to learn next craft-wise: Last year I wanted to learn to knit, but since I don’t have much patience, I threw the needles back into the corner 🙈 Now I’ve picked it up again and want to give it another try!

My name is Kathrin
I live here: Limbach-Oberfrohna, Saxony
I have _3_ children and am separated.
I am _42_ years old.
I’ve been a contributor to Crazypatterns since __2015_, and you can find me there under the name _Knotenzeug by KaRa__.

My favorite craft: Crocheting
How I got into crafts: My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was 9 years old. She also taught me how to sew and knit. At 34, I started crocheting again because of my kids. My son wanted a tractor he could take with him to preschool. That’s how I got into amigurumi and then dolls.

What I really want to learn next in terms of crafts: perfecting my knitting and incorporating embroidery into my projects.
