Seahorse Hippy was crocheted from the leftover yarn of a skein of sock yarn. The yarn was worked with two strands. The sock yarn has a soft color gradient and is interwoven with a glitter thread. This makes the seahorse’s body shimmer beautifully when light hits it. I used sponge yarn for the red crest, but it can also be made with sock yarn.

Sock yarn isn’t just for socks. No, you can also use it to make very pretty doll clothes. Here are a few examples. And the best part is, you don’t need a whole ball; leftovers are enough. You’re sure to find some in your stash.

Cardigan for dolls

The length is variable. They are knitted as a raglan from the top down in one piece. You can knit them in a solid color or with colorful sock yarn, or combine both yarns.



Long doll dress with slit

Each dress requires 20 to 25 g of sock yarn or yarn in sock-yarn weight. The dress is knitted with a set of double-pointed needles. The triangular shawl in the photo is crocheted from leftovers. The pattern for it is available for free in my Shop.



Poncho in different versions

Here’s something crocheted from sock yarn for a change. Yes, that works too. This is a suitable model even for crochet beginners. The poncho always turns out well. You can choose the different collar variations separately.

I have a sock pattern for you

Spiral Socks – I love them because they’re knitted without a heel, so they fit for a long time. That’s especially nice for kids. They simply grow with them.

Thanks to the pattern, the sock adapts to the shape of the foot. With my pattern, you can knit socks from size 14–18 up to shoe size 46–47.
