Experience with a photo box

Good morning

I have a question. My friend gave me one of those photo boxes. But somehow I can’t get the hang of it. Do you have to move farther away and take the photo, then crop it later, or get closer and take the photo? I don’t think the corners are ideal either, are they?
I’m getting a bit desperate. Please tell me your honest opinion.  Thank you

I’ve only done this when photographing jewelry—the objects were usually much smaller, but the principle should be the same. The key was to keep the box out of sight, so I took the photos straight down from above to avoid showing the corners.
How well the camera or lens handles this with a crocheted piece of that size depends, of course, on the equipment you have. With jewelry, I mostly took macro shots.

Hi Sinas, the box might be too small for larger items. Mine could be bigger sometimes, too. I just place it farther away on the table and zoom in. That said, my figures are no more than 20 cm tall—the last one was 25 cm, and I already had trouble with that.
