No, Josefa, that’s not a real tree—it’s an artificial one. It’s about 50 cm tall and has been our Christmas tree for several years now. Unfortunately, we can’t fit a bigger one, and we like it just the way it is.

I love Christmas! But the nativity scene is the most important thing to me. There are just the two of us, and in recent years, decorating the Christmas tree has just become a chore for me. Last year, I flat-out refused to do it. Years ago, with foresight, I bought a little golden metal tree on sale, and now it’s decorated in the traditional way. This will be our little tree for the rest of our lives. I have so many Christmas decorations already—it’s more than enough




My husband and I made the nativity scene ourselves 40 years ago.

This is an elegant and very minimalist tree.
