Dear users, dear authors,
dear little helpers,
are you hard at work?

Today, once I’m done decorating, I want to embroider my winter church and the gingerbread house again, because I want to incorporate those into the decorations too. Last weekend I digitized a winter church for my large embroidery hoop, and yesterday I finally got some brown felt :-)

Best regards, Inge

I’m currently hard at work fighting off the coronavirus inside me... 🙈 Unfortunately, that’s taking up so much energy that I can’t really do much else on the side.

Once I’m feeling a bit better, I want to do some Christmas crafts with Leo. I just don’t know exactly what yet. (If anyone has tips for crafting with toddlers—preferably using things you already have at home—please share! 😊 But you know the drill: no links.)

I’m re-crocheting a loop—I’m on the 8th round now, and I still have 7 rounds to go.

I spent the whole morning mending my husband’s holey socks. I’m not sure if it’s okay to post a picture? If not, please delete it, Josefa!

I’m working on a men’s scarf—
it’s a gift and needs to be finished quickly.

@daniela-muehlbauer,
as long as those are your own pictures, that’s perfectly fine.

I’m busy making socks for myself. After taking care of everyone else last year, my own supply was looking a bit sparse.

Tina: Get well soon from me. Make sure you recover properly. They say getting plenty of sleep helps.
Crafting with kids—how about salt dough? Shape it, bake or let it dry, paint it—done.
Also works as tree ornaments.

Marion: Your scarf looks great with that pattern. Do you knit each row separately in one color and bring the stitches up from lower down? I can manage simple knitting projects like that.

I’m still on “rest period”—what a bummer.

Marion, I once got a sweater in this houndstooth pattern from my mom ages ago; she had a knitting machine. There’s even still a picture of it :-) I must have been around 15/16 years old, a long time ago :-)
Tina, wishing you a speedy recovery—get well soon.

Best regards, Inge

What made you laugh in this cute photo?

Inge and Andrea

Inge, your sweater looked great and fit you perfectly. The pattern is still modern today. 😀

The pattern I’m knitting is called faux houndstooth, and it’s very easy. You always knit two rows with the same color.

The stitch count must be divisible by 3 + edge stitches

Dark color: in row 1, slip 1 st purlwise, knit 2 sts ......
Dark color: wrong side row - purl all stitches
Light color: in row 1 - knit 2 sts, slip 1 st purlwise, .....
Light color - wrong side row - purl all stitches

Andrea, I’m sure you can do it.

If you have any more questions, just send me a PM

Best regards, Marion

Josefa, I’m standing in the picture like a question mark—everyone told me to stand up straight but were making funny faces while doing so, and I really wanted to stand up straight but then couldn’t help but laugh, and right then my ex pressed the shutter button.

Love, Inge

I’ve been trying for a few days now to get a decent edge on the two-color patent stitch (brioche).
It’s not that easy. But I’m persistent. I’ll keep at it until I’m 100% satisfied. :D

I’m crocheting gift tags and then I want to embroider small Christmas motifs onto gift ribbons.

@Tina: I hope you get well soon and take the time to recover properly.
@ Andrea: I hope your “rest period” is over soon.

Best regards
Marina

Tina, I hope you get well soon, too. Give yourself the rest your body needs right now, as much as is possible with a child. That’s usually easier said than done.
Toilet paper rolls are also great for crafts with toddlers. You can wrap them up like candy and paint them. There are so many creative things you can do with them.

Marion, your scarf reminds me of that ancient pattern, too. They used to make jackets with it back in the day. I’ve knitted it before and really like it, even for hats.

I’m currently dressing the second doll baby in a winter jumpsuit. The third one is already waiting impatiently and will get its turn soon.

Here’s a photo of Lara in her new outfit. This little one won’t be cold much longer; just a few more pieces are missing.

Since my thumb is hurting right now, I’m doing a little painting.

Red Christmas baubles are getting white dots and stars. And I painted this glass.

Happy Thursday evening to you all

You’ve all been busy again. Looking at your wonderful projects already makes my fingers itch, but it’s just not getting any better. How could it, when you’re constantly moving around. Darn

Petra: Wishing you a speedy recovery too. You’ve been very creative there. It looks great. What kind of paint do you use for that? Do you put a primer on the glass?
Monika: Your Lara looks absolutely sweet in her new outfit. It’s a shame I can’t manage it that well.
Inge: lovely photo, you were a slim girl, and the pattern is timelessly beautiful.
Marion: Your knitting pattern does sound simple after all. I can do that once I’m pain-free again. Maybe knitting is easier on the hand than crocheting. I’ll try it.
Thanks Marina. It’ll probably still take a little while. I’m on vacation in December, so things will be calmer then.

Best wishes
Andrea

I made a few bead angels. I just barely managed to finish them.

Andrea, what beautiful little angels—wow! Don’t say you can’t do that too. There’s always a first time. I’m sure you can do it.

Petra, you’re really good at drawing—great! I like that. I’d also like to know what color you use for that.

I wish everyone here a speedy recovery.
Tina, my daughter and my grandson spent last year bending pipe cleaners into cookie cutters—stars, Christmas trees, and so on. It looked beautiful and was easy to do.
I’m currently working on a hat for my son and a bag shaped like a 20-sided die for my son-in-law. The sets for Mom just got finished.
Best regards, Marita

Andrea, these are the multi-markers by Bine Brändle. Just painted on glass. The plan is for them to wash off in the dishwasher later—that’s the idea.

I’d like to thank you all again for the get-well wishes.

I’m on the mend.
Salt dough is on the agenda for the weekend, and I’ve already set aside some toilet paper rolls so they don’t end up in the trash.

Other than that, I actually managed to do a little crocheting again today—even if it was just 3 rows or so of a little bear 😊

Tina, get well soon from me, too!
I finished knitting a hat for my husband yesterday and wanted to start a cozy loop scarf for myself afterward.
But after 4 rows, I realized the yarn would be too scratchy on my neck, so I stopped in frustration and immediately unraveled it. It was the same yarn as the hat, just a different color. The hat is really fluffy and soft—sometimes it’s strange how the same yarn can turn out differently…
In between, I’m crocheting granny squares for a blanket.
