Dear users, dear authors,
If you’d still like to do some crafts for Advent
, you’ll have to get started soon. The first Sunday of Advent
is just a week away. But there might still be time for a few little projects using up leftover materials
.
are you in the Advent spirit yet? I still need to get into the mood. We’re having visitors on the first Sunday of Advent—our children and grandchildren. And of course, I have to have everything decorated with a little Christmas flair by then. But the boxes of Christmas decorations are still in the basement. So this week is the time to do it!
I still have the homemade decorations from previous years—so I’m all set. Crocheted or knitted decorations are just so sustainable. They bring us joy every year, and you don’t have to make something new all the time… unless you want to.
I’m in the same boat—I have tons of sewn decorations for Christmas, but I’m not quite in the mood yet. Still, I want to put up some Christmas decorations this week—maybe I’ll get around to it then😁
Advent is starting early this year, though. And then there’s the warm weather we’ve had these past few weeks...
But I usually don’t start decorating until the Saturday before the first Sunday of Advent anyway.
What? Already? Goodness, that’s really early—then I’ll have to get started this week, too. I’d like to have the decorations a little different by the first Sunday of Advent. The festive mood has to come all on its own… but it’s still too warm here for mulled wine.
Oh my goodness. The first Sunday of Advent already? I’m not even in the Christmas spirit yet.
That can wait. We’re both on our own, and besides, I’m working the late shift this week.
But… I had my first mulled wine today. Delicious.
I had some roasted almonds and a chocolate-covered banana. We didn’t even have to go to the Christmas market, which opened today. There was a short circuit with the Christmas tree—no lights. What an embarrassment.
Right around the corner there was one of those “cute little cars”—it was pretty funny.
I’ll be decorating on the Saturday before the first Sunday of Advent, as I almost always do. I still have quite a few things in the basement for that, as well as lots of new crocheted decorations.
I’m not really in the Christmas spirit yet. That’s probably also because of the weather and all the work at the office.
Next week I’m going to the Christmas market with my colleagues, and I’ve crocheted a little Christmas surprise for each of them.
Maybe that’ll slowly bring on the Christmas spirit.
I never put up all the decorations at once.
For the first Sunday of Advent, I set up the little lit trees and an Advent arrangement. On the second Sunday, I add the little angels, and so on. Everything is up a week before Christmas, and it stays up, on average, until January 6.
