Building a snowman: will there be enough snow for it?

Dear users, dear authors,
Winter is actually supposed to be rather mild. Do you think there will still be enough for a snowman?

I hope so, Josefa, but here in Main-Franconia there’ll probably be hardly any snow—or none at all—just like it has been for years now. Even the Rhön has less and less snow, and that used to be a sure bet for us; the Kreuzberg is usually just lightly dusted with snow, too.
BUT we don’t need as much snow as we had in the winter of ’78–’79 :-)

Here in the Black Forest, I think we’ll probably have a snow day or two.
So far, we’ve been able to build snowmen every winter. The year before last, for example, winter didn’t really kick off until February or so, with huuuuge piles of snow! :) 

I’ll just have to wait and see.

Last winter, I didn’t even have to get the snow shovel out. 

I haven’t built a snowman in ages. For one thing, Cologne doesn’t get that much snow—it only happens once in a blue moon—and on top of that, we were always down in the sunny south from early January through late March.
There was plenty of snow that lasted a long time in 2010; it started in mid-December. That’s more than unusual and immediately led to complications, because Cologne hadn’t stockpiled any road salt, and at first, there simply wasn’t any available. Cologne drivers already go crazy at the first drop of rain, so with snow and uncleared streets, the chaos was complete.
