Dear users, dear authors,
here in this thread you’ll find quick patterns for Advent decorations, Advent wreaths, Advent calendars and for St. Nicholas, which can also be made with leftovers / leftover yarn if applicable. The first Sunday of Advent falls on November 27 this year. If you get started right away, there’s still enough time for a quick leftover-yarn pattern. Good luck.

@Authors,

Even though St. Nicholas Day gifts are usually presented in a red boot, there are plenty of ways to surprise someone with the packaging.
If you make a boot yourself, you’re guaranteed to pull off a surprise! How about this one?

This elegant St. Nicholas boot is made from photo cardstock and measures approximately 17.5 x 22.5 x 8 cm. With a little crafting experience, it’s very easy to recreate.

Gift bags for St. Nicholas don’t have to be bought; you can easily make them yourself. If you can’t or don’t want to sew, you might enjoy crocheting the St. Nicholas bags. It’s a wonderful activity to do while watching TV or having coffee, since there are no increases or decreases and no complicated pattern. If you use gradient yarn (here: sock yarn in Christmas colors), a pattern emerges all on its own. You can also crochet them with lots of small, colorful leftovers and in different sizes.
The bags can be reused every year. And so that everyone can recognize their own bag, each one gets a different crocheted appliqué.

The cute little snowman, Santa Claus, and moose finger puppets are a great idea for filling an Advent calendar. You can use them to make up and act out fun Christmas stories, helping to make the long wait until the Christ Child or Santa Claus arrives go by a little faster. The finger puppets can be crocheted from leftover yarn.

Like any Advent calendar , this one takes a little time. But this calendar has a big advantage over many others: It doesn’t have to be completely finished by December 1 and can be gradually expanded with additional little Christmas trees.

Or you can simply refill the trees that have already been emptied. In that case, you’ll only need a few of them and just 24 labeled stars.

These little Christmas trees are made of photo cardstock, are about 8 cm tall, and are well-suited even for beginners.
