Christmas tree ornaments: craft new highlights now

You can create wonderful Christmas tree ornaments from leftover yarn!


These cute little snowflakes  aren’t just a great window decoration—they also look enchanting on the Christmas tree. Plus, you can hide a little surprise inside them. There’s a little pocket on the back for candy or a Christmas note.


Angels are, of course, an absolute must for Christmas decorations! You can crochet this angel in a heavenly sphere
as either a day or night version. The sphere has a diameter of 12 cm and fits on medium to large Christmas trees.



Do you like things colorful? Then why not crochet this colorful garland with star-shaped gnomes in lots of different colors using your leftover yarn? It’s quick and easy—and you’re sure to have a lot of fun! The garland can also be hung on the Christmas tree or used to welcome your guests in the entryway.

These beautiful decorative baubles create just the right mood for the coming Advent and Christmas season. On the window, as ornaments on the Christmas tree, or simply hanging freely, they are a beautiful eye-catcher.

Materials per bauble:

• Approx. 13 g cotton yarn, yardage → 125m/50g (e.g. Catania)
• Crochet hook size 2.5 or 3 (example here = size 2.5)
• Wood glue (e.g. the Ponal brand) ← my recommendation,
  alternatively fabric stiffener, liquid laundry starch, or spray starch
• 1 small balloon
• 1 LED tea light (optional)
• at least 6 beads (optional)
• Supplies for blocking/stretching (rubber mat, pins, etc.)

These pretty tea light holders or crocheted stars for hanging in the window or on the Christmas tree are also great for using up leftover yarn. They have a diameter of approx. 17 cm.

Decorate your Christmas tree with your crochet creations! Choose your favorite color or crochet lots of colorful Christmas baubles. You can decorate your own Christmas tree with these handmade Christmas baubles or give the baubles as gifts. 
Cotton yarn or other yarn can be used. Combine it with glitter yarn to make your Christmas decorations look really elegant.
For the filling, you can use a firm ball (plastic or Styrofoam) or stuffing.
