If you work from home at a desk, you don’t have to wear pumps. You can slip your feet into very comfortable and warm felt shoes. This way, your feet stay warm even during video conferences :-)
Here, I’d like to introduce you to two particularly warm styles that keep your feet so toasty simply because they’re cut a little higher. The rule is: If your ankle is warm, your whole foot is warm. That’s because the blood vessels that supply the foot run along the ankles beneath the thin skin. If this area gets cold, your feet will get cold. So remember: You have to keep your ankles warm—that’s what keeps your feet warm.
One-Step Felt Booties
You can knit them in any size and color combination. They’re knitted in one piece and felted in the washing machine. For the sole, you can choose between a silicone coating or a leather sole, which needs to be sewn on. The pattern explains all of this in detail.
Felt Boots with a Rolled Cuff
In my opinion, these are just a tad warmer because you can choose the thickest, warmest wool you have for the rolled cuff. And with real wool all around the ankle, the cold doesn’t stand a chance. Yet you won’t overheat in felt shoes because they’re breathable and regulate temperature. For this model, we’ll sew on the rolled cuff later.
I hope you enjoy looking at them and making your own.
Warm regards from Ina
