soul warmer

Hi everyone,
I’m new here, a beginner, and I need some advice. I’d like to knit a soul warmer, starting with a plain design. How much yarn do I need, roughly, for a “large” soul warmer?

Hi, and first of all welcome here at Crazypatterns. For a *large* soul warmer, you’ll need at least about 900 grams of yarn, even without a stitch pattern. It also depends on how tightly or loosely you knit and how long you want it to be. I’m in the middle of knitting one for myself too, and I also need a *large* one :-) so that’s how I know. It’ll still take a while until mine is finished.

that depends on the yarn and its yardage.

That’s definitely true, but I also think that 900 g covers a wide range of yarn weights. You probably don’t knit a soul warmer to be very thin, so if you’re using very thick yarn, you might need just a little more.

Will we get to see the finished soul warmer sometime?
I’m also thinking about making a soul warmer. And a poncho—I really like those, but I haven’t had one in a long time.
